What is Luminis Art?
The simple definition of the word luminism is "giving
out light". The artwork we represent does just that. It gives light
back to the beholder. The paintings reflect light in a magical, refreshing
way. Luminous techniques can be tracked all the way back to Rembrandt,
Da Vinci and other great artists. The term luminist art was coined by
a group of talented young artists some 200 years ago in the United States.
It is just a function of layering, positioning, use of color, and the
creation of contrast. Through the use of many colors and pigmants these
artists create a wonderful piece of work that stirs the soul.
The artists we represent use no luminous paints or
phosperesents of any kind. They use the technique described above.
